· Spotlight Recitals (1-2 per month), annual Share-A-Thon,
Fall Festival, and other performance opportunities.
· Written and oral evaluation.
· Students must have access to an instrument for
practicing.
Accordion:
CMSBC only
Brass and Woodwinds: French horn, trombone, trumpet,
clarinet, flute, saxophone, oboe. Lessons can begin when
the student has reached appropriate physical maturity.
Percussion: Jazz and classical techniques
(CMSBC, Albion, Hastings).
Strings: Violin, viola, cello (Hastings
and Marshall), string bass (Marshall), hammered dulcimer
(Hastings)
Guitar: Classical, jazz, folk, and rock
techniques.
Piano: Wide variety of approaches and
styles.
Voice: Students may begin instruction
when the voice is mature enough to move beyond group singing,
typically age 13 and up.
