Shareathon Festival 2010!
Hear the Applause!

Everyone can make music and everyone deserves the chance to learn how! Raising money for financial aid and other costs, Shareathon 2010 March 20-21! Featuring performances by students and faculty and more, the event is planned for Saturday, Mar 20 9am-1pm at St Rose School in Hastings, Saturday, Mar 20 2-5pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, and Sunday, Mar 21 1-5 pm at the Music Center in Battle Creek.
Special guests are the Hastings Kids Choir and Fiddles 'n' Strums program, Marshall Childrens Choir and Marshall Woodwind Ensemble, and a drumming group from the Huron Band of the Potawatomi in Battle Creek.
We are hoping to raise $7,000 to benefit our scholarship funds and cover other costs not covered by tuition. Donations made be made online, in the office, or by phone.

Private voice and guitar lessons in Vicksburg
The CMS-Battle Creek now offers private lessons in voice and guitar to middle and high school students in Vicksburg. The lessons are held in the high school choir room after school on Wednesdays.

Fun and easy piano classes for youth and adults
Piano Together is for beginning players who just want to play for fun, with no pressure to perform, or those who took a few piano lessons years ago and are rusty. In a few weeks you will be playing melodies and learning to put chords with them.
Information about instructor Rita Burghart is available on our Faculty pages. The classes, for youth and adults age 16 and up, are offered at the Battle Creek and Marshall locations.
Tuition is $110 for 11 weeks, plus $23 for the student book and CD. Financial aid is available. Call 269 963-1911, ext 2585 in Battle Creek, or 269.781.8256 in Marshall.

Marshall Woodwind Ensemble
For area high school woodwind students who want to perform in a small ensemble, the Marshall Woodwind Ensemble is directed by Kathleen Warriner, area band educator and Coordinator for CMS-Marshall. The Ensemble rehearses weekly and will perform throughout the local community. Funded in part by the Marshall Rotary Foundation, tuition for this first year is just $25. Marshall Children’s Choir!
The new Marshall Children’s Choir, for grades 3-6, meets Tuesdays, 4-5:15 pm in the Marshall Middle School choir room (3rd floor), 100 E. Green Street. Directed by Irene Pizzimenti, the Choir will perform in local schools and in the community. Students will learn how to perform with confidence, basic vocal technique, and note reading in a fun and encouraging environment. The Choir is funded in part by the Marshall Community Foundation. Music Connections, an orchestral strings ensemble for students of all ages, is now offered by the Battle Creek Youth Orchestra at the CMS-Hastings. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings.
