Battle Creek Girls Chorus

Performing with remarkable musicianship and a vibrant spirit, the Battle Creek Girls Chorus is among Michigan’s finest youth ensembles.

Sixty or more girls, age 8 to 18, from throughout south central Michigan, receive professional vocal training and a broad cultural education as they progress through five levels of performing expertise.

Their broad treble repertoire includes classical masterworks, contemporary expressions, and folk songs from around the world. The Chorus performs a local concert series, private performances, and a summer tour.

Recent tour destinations have included Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, and Great Britain, where they performed in the Shrewsbury International Music Festival in 2001 and 2005. A performance tour to Paris, France, is planned for 2011.

“Performing, traveling, learning languages and music theory-- the Girls Chorus is a complete education.”

“The Girls Chorus has prepared our daughter for success in life.”

“I am most grateful for the friends I’ve made in the Girls Chorus.” - member
